Up W7BRI 1650 Power Pack Slideshow

WORK IN PROGRESS. ALMOST DONE!

Greetings,

Here's my latest and greatest power pack. At 430Ah, it has over twice the capacity of my 1440 Power Pack. It contains two Odyssey PC1800 Trolling Thunder batteries in parallel, a Bluesea 8248 DC Multimeter, Bluesea 6005 battery switch, Bluesea 2020 PowerBar, Bluesea ANL fuse block, some Scosche single/dual MAXI fuse blocks, and a Chicago Electric 1200W inverter.

Please let me know if you have any questions or comments.

Thanks & 73,

Here you can see the Bluesea switch, multimeter and the custom AC/DC bulkheads and cables I made.

Here's a closeup on the AC/DC bulkheads.

This prototype uses a wood frame, but the final version will use polycarbonate. Here the splashproof meter is displaying the voltage of the pack. It can also show amps (can pass current up to 500A), and has a configurable low/high alarm.

On the left, two Anderson PowerPole SB350s connect the two massive batteries in parallel. They're fed by 4/0 welding cable. The positive line routes through the ANL fuse block to the battery switch, etc..

I put large MAXI fuses on the inverter and 4 DC out jacks. The small yellow fuse holder contains a 1 amp glass fuse for the meter. The black split loom on the bottom contains the negative battery cable that connects to the meter's shunt.

The gray meter attaches to the gold shunt that's connected to the silver PowerBar -- to which the negative DC out cables attach.
